About Me

I have an HND in Commercial Horticulture gained in 2005 from Hadlow College. Whilst studying I volunteered at Great Dixter in East Sussex under the watchful eyes of Christopher Lloyd OBE and Head Gardener, Fergus Garrett. There was no greater training.

I am lucky enough to have worked in world renowned gardens. After Dixter I gardened at Sissinghurst Castle Gardens in Kent working with Alexis Datta and her brilliant team. Working in this flagship garden taught me the exacting standards required to achieve outstanding results.

In 2010, my husband and I bought The Walled Nursery, a plant nursery In Hawkhurst, Kent. The nursery was set within a beautiful Victorian walled garden, under our ownership, we grew thousands of plants for sale each season, planted up huge stock borders and rebuilt four of the listed glasshouses.

Eventually we added a Cafe and Gift Shop, placing the nursery firmly on the horticultural map. Over the years we were featured in Country Living Magazine , Period Living Magazine and many national newspapers. I represented BBC Radio Kent at RHS Chelsea Flower Show for six years running. We sold the nursery at the end of 2020 having created wonderful memories and experiences we’ll never forget.

My husband Monty is also a Horticulturist and works as a Plant Inspector for APHA, we have two sons both green fingered inevitable when you grew up in a walled garden! I am treasurer for Burwash Horticultural Society and love getting involved in community events.
